10-Day Aegean Adventure

Ancient Turkish cities lend color, culture, and tradition to everyday life.  The azure blue of the Aegean Sea provides vivid contrast with the vibrant crops of orchards, vineyards, and vegetable fields of the rural landscape.  


Day 1
Depart USA for Istanbul, Turkey
Overnight flight to Turkey.
Day 2
Upon your arrival, you will be met by our representative before transfer to your Hotel. Spend the rest of the day at your own leisure.
Day 3
After breakfast at the hotel, enjoy a guided tour to Topkapi Palace – royal residence of the Ottoman Sultans from 1465-1856- followed by visits to St. Sophia (Hagia Sophia), the greatest church in ancient Byzantium and the Blue Mosque, built 1609 and known for the blue tiles adorning the interior walls and for six minarets that tower over the skyline. We end our day enjoying the sights, sounds, aromas of the Spice Market-one of the oldest bazaars in the world! Optional dinner with a Turkish show is avaliable tonight. Overnight in Istanbul. (B)
Day 4
After breakfast at the hotel we drive to Gallipoli – significant as the landing & battle with the Allies in WWI- and visit Anzac Cove, Nek, Chunuk Bair, Lone Pine and 57th Regiment Memorial and War Museum. After our time here, we cross the Dardanelles strait (connecting the Sea of Mamara and the Aegean Sea.) for an overnight stay in Canakkale.(BD)
Day 5
Troy, Pergamum, Kusadasi
After breakfast at the hotel we drive to legendary Troy- center of ancient civilizations and the site where the legendary Trojan War took place. Crossing the legendary mountain Ida, we arrive in Pergamum to visit the incredible ruins of the Acropolis, famous for the Alter of Zeus and one of the Seven Churches of the Revelation of John. Overnight in Kusadasi (B,D)
Day 6
Ephesus, Sirince, Kusadasi
This morning we take a short drive to visit the extensive ruins of Ephesus- famed for the Temple of Artemis, the Letter to the Ephesians that St. Paul wrote, and as one of the seven churches of Asia cited in the Book of Revelation. We continue to the marvelous and beautiful village of Sirince where you may be able to shop for and taste the delicious wines and olive oils of the village. Overnight in Kusadasi. (B,D)
Day 7
Kusadasi, Samos, Greece
After Breakfast, we transfer to the ferry to Samos (Greek Island) . This island has not only been graced with exquisite beauty but also with a rich cultural and historic heritage as well. It remains a “green island” with pine forests, olive groves and citrus trees. The endless grapevines are the source of the famous Samos wines. The beautiful greenery sweeps down hills to the magnificent beaches along the clear blue Aegean waters. Enjoy self-touring this authentic Greek Island or just relax and take in the spectacular sights and sounds! Late afternoon return ferry to Kusadasi with transfer to hotel for overnight. (B,D)
Day 8
After breakfast we will drive to Bodrum, on the southern coast of the Aegean Sea. A thriving port city with enchanting villages of Greek-style whitewashed houses dotting the hillside overlooking twin bays along miles of sandy beaches. The rest of the day is at leisure . Overnight stay in Bodrum (B)
Day 9
Bodrum, Kos, Greece
After breakfast, we transfer to port for the ferry to Kos (Greek Island ). Kos is the birthplace of the father of medicine, Hippocrates, which was born on the island around 460 B.C. and founded the Great School of Medicine of Kos. The island is famous for its rich vegetation and its temperate climate yet apart from its natural beauty and its breath taking golden sandy beaches, Kos is filled with monuments, remnants of its glorious past, dating from antiquity, the Byzantine Era and Venetian times up to present. Enjoy self touring on the island. Late afternoon return ferry to Bodrum with transfer to hotel for overnight. (B)
Day 10
Depart for USA
After breakfast transfer to port or airport of Bodrum
